Homelessness in Finland 2021

At the end of 2021, there were 3,950 homeless people living alone in Finland, which is 390 less than in 2020.

The figures on long-term homelessness in Helsinki for 2019-2021 have been corrected in the attached statistics. The original study, published in Finnish, used figures based on the joint statistics on housing services and housing support in the City of Helsinki. The new figures are based on the number of people in need of intensive support and are more accurate. The statistics have been adjusted to reflect the importance of Helsinki as a major population centre.
